Running from Zombies

So.

Yeah, bad Bloggergirl. I know. I know. It's been a crazy month. I promise to get back on the blogging band waggon. Really!

Did I mention that I am signed up to run in a 1/2 marathon in March? No? Well, yeah. I am. Why? cause I am totally insane. There's officially no doubt. Listen, yall- I am NOT a runner. My thought & theory behind running has always gone something like this, "I'll start running when the zombies start chasing after me."

Well.

I'm running for them.
There are real-life zombies who chase after people every day.
If you want to help- strap on your running shoes! Just kidding! (sort of.) Feel free to donate on-line. I'll be throwing up a button on my blog soon & shamelessly begging people for sponsorship in the next few weeks.

Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday! I'll see yall tomorrow! Same bat-time! Same, sometimes, batty-channel!

I Love...

1. that I remembered the Macy's gift card from my grandparents that was tucked away in my wallet... I bought a new signature ring with it.... I love it too.

2. the Wonderful Wizard of Oz when I'm feeling down.

3. when my brain kicks in before my mouth engages... Don't ask.

4. Freshly painted toe nails.

5. lilies.

6. the new purse my friend Faith got me for my birthday. It's bright and lovely and whimsical.... and I'm thrilled it's officially spring and I can start to use it without breaking into Emily Post hives.

7. pink. But you knew that.

8. when I have new books to read. Makes me all warm and fuzzy.

9. A certain little dude with blond hair and blue eyes & a crazy love of Thomas the Train and Mickey Mouse.

10. Gus McCrae.

11. beef stew on cold, chilly days

12. drive-in movie theaters

13. watching movies that are so bad that they are worth watching... just for the sheer pleasure of mocking within an inch of the movie reel. (I'm looking at you, Red Riding Hood.)

14. the jalapeno soup at Fish City Grill.... greatest soup, ever.

15. flower pens- those make me so darn happy. every time I go to write something and pick up one of my flower pens, I smile a little.

If anyone thought my train of thought jumped the track, you're right. But that's the price you pay for reading my wee little bloggy. Till next time!

I Need More of This in My Life

I love the blog-world. I really do. Through this magical world I have had the great pleasure of meeting all kinds of people, all over the world.

And through this glorious connection to the wide world, I have come to know Big Mama, right here in my home state of Texas. And I now must thank her for showing me the way to Gypsyville. Well, I'm thanking her.... my wallet, not so much. You guessed it- shopping. On-line. And, it's wonderful. Go check it out. But, here's a few of my favorite things. Please note: I said 'a few.'

I really love this tank-top. Actually, I love everything in this picture.

May I just register how darn cool this sign is?

I love this necklace.... I need it. I do.

I adore charm bracelets. And I love the bead bracelet too.

Gross stuff warning & other more fun stuff

So what's going on in my little corner of the world?

Well, let's see.... little Jacob is sick. Huge Bummer. Took him to the doctor last week & our rockstar family doc diagnosed him with an ear infection. Ick. Now, he's snotty & coughing up a lung. ::sigh:: And all that snot its making for a vomitous little boy. As an extra special gift last night, at 1:30 in the blessed a.m., the poor little dude threw up all over me, him and the floor in his room.

And let me tell you something, there's not much that will snap you into wakefulness like a vomiting 18 month old.

And as an extra special treat, I'm fighting off this plague. Awesome.

Yesterday I ate leftover chips, salsa and guacamole from Papacitos for lunch. And it was glorious, I tell you.

And can I just take a moment to tell you the greatest way to cook & eat asparagus? Snap the woody ends off, coat them in extra virgin olive oil, & wrap 3-4 in a strip of bacon. Then salt and pepper. Throw those puppies in an 400 degree oven & watch them closely. When the bacon starts crisping up, pull 'em out & hit 'em with some fresh squeezed lemon juice. Yummy.

Do you know the Pioneer Woman? You should. She's got a salsa recipe that I'm itching to try. You know, when I'm done slaying the Black Plague that's currently invaded my house.
